Purity, Worth & God's Love

Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.
- Proverbs 4:23

I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.
- Psalms 119:10-11

God calls you His Princess, His Beloved, His temple in which His Holy Spirit dwells to be pure. What I have learned about purity is that it flows out of two areas of your life. Your purity will be determined by whether or not you have a right view of your worth and whether or not you have received God's love. The young woman who does not see her Biblical worth and has not yet received love will have a nearly impossible time being pure. The young woman who knows her Biblical worth and has received God's love though it will not be an easy ride for even her she will have truth stored inside of her to draw from through her journey to purity. Yes, I refer to purity as a journey because it is not a level in which we reach and need to go no further. Purity is an ongoing process and God removing the stains of this world from us through His truth.

The Bible says in Proverbs that if a young person seeks to keep their way pure they must remember God's word. The scripture in Psalms above tells us that we should hide the word of God in our hearts. The word is the key to living a pure life. We need to know what God's word says. This is not for behavior modification but for true spiritual transformation. Romans put it this way:

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
- Romans 12:2

If we do not know what God's word says about various topics, God's way of being right, God's will, what God desires we will go with what we think is right or what the world says you should do. Do not be conformed to ways that go against the lover of your son but submit to His ways, renew your mindset and be transformed! See God knows what is best for you, He created you. When God tells us to do something or not to do something He is not trying to make your life miserable, hard or anything like that. He's your Abba, your daddy, your papa He knows the ways of this world lead to death and destruction. He knows dating that guy that He told you to stay away from doesn't love Him so he can't love you the way you should be loved. God knows that that boy you're thinking of compromising with only wants nights of passion with you but not days of authentic love. God is looking out for your heart. Trust Him!!!

Are you aware of the father's love for you?

I mean really aware ... not that you know He loves you in your mind but are you seriously aware like seriously in your heart you know that He LOVES you.

Think of a person you love. I'm sure there is something that person doesn't like and I'm also sure that because of your love for them you do not do that thing that they don't like. This is how it should be with God. Purity is an act of worship and a response to falling in love with our King. Purity is not mere behavior because it must flow from the heart.

Princess,
if only you knew your worth. I want to drive this point home because when you know your worth you'll refuse to settle. Impure actions are us compromising God's standards and going for the world's standard. It's like God has prepared a wonderful feast for us (purity) and we choose to eat with the pigs in the mud (impurity). Some of you have only eaten with the mud and you say you're fine there maybe you say there is nothing wrong with you eating in the mud. The problem is you've been in the mud for so long that you no longer realize exactly how dirty you are. Jesus shed his blood so you can be cleansed from the mud life, accept his free gift and come dine at the table of the feast.

Your heart
Your body
Your mind
Your lips
all of you is worth so much.

Who and what have you given your heart away to?
Who have you allowed to mistreat and use your body?
Who and what have you allowed to live rent free in your mind?
Why'd I put lips? I meant this figuratively and literally. Figuratively in the sense that kissing and making out in our society is like the 'safe' thing to do instead of sex. It's okay to go this far just as long as you don't go all the way. What limit has God made clear that you have allowed the world to fog? Are you currently in a relationship where you are compromising in these areas? God wants pure completely sold out daughters none of that straddling the fence stuff. As long as you keep asking how far can you go you'll always be straddling the fence and playing with God. Set a clear and defined line with God's word. Search His word for yourself and let me know, would the God of the Bible approve of 'we're just making out' type philosophies?

You are worth so much more don't settle for impurity!

Lovely, my prayer for you is that you would seek God like seek Him completely and through seeking Him and falling in love with Him purity would be your worship response.
