So we don't look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
- 2 Corinthians 4:18
Beloved, where have you set your gaze today?
This morning I woke up to chaos! Anyone on the outside looking into my life would not understand why in the world I have joy. Why in the world I even choose to encourage others, the reason is because I have set my gaze on what is eternal. Your pain, your suffering, your current circumstance will pass away one day. Maybe you aren't necessarily in a season of pain maybe you are just chasing after worldly pleasures, your running is in vain my dear. All of the worldly things we gain mean nothing when we stand before the father.
I sat here spiraling into sadness and the Holy Spirit reminded me of truth, just like Jesus promised He would. I was reminded of 2 Corinthians 4:18. I sat there and just smiled because suddenly suffering seems so small, suddenly my pain is not the biggest thing in the world, suddenly material things are all just so meaningless. Take heart my dear, set your gaze on what is eternal. Remember Princess, we are living for eternity.
How can you set your gaze today?
