Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
- Matthew 28:18-20
In Christian communities missionaries are often looked at in a different light than the rest of the church. I find it interesting that we put our church missionaries on a pedestal when we are ALL missionaries. You don't need to go overseas to impact your world. I'd go so far as to say if you can't impact the homeless woman in your town you have no place going to Africa and trying to heal a village of people. The great commission wasn't given to a chosen few of Christians but to all those who proclaim Jesus' name. Granted there are some who are called to overseas ministries, we are ALL missionaries. We ought to be mission minded women. Many Christians feel good when they tell someone Jesus loves them and if they lead someone to Christ oh boy you're Christian of the month. This shouldn't be so. It is okay to be excited about sharing Jesus but it should be a regular practice that happens all of the time not just once a month or sadly for most once a year.
Imagine walking the earth with zombies. Millions of zombies and you had the secret that could bring the dead to life again. This should be our outlook in life. We are carrying around life and healing for the broken hurting and dead and yet we don't share it. I challenge you to pray every time before you leave the house and ask the Holy Spirit to show you those who He wants you to minister to. Study the book of Acts and the great commission. Ask God to give you the hunger and the desire to share Him and His goodness.
If you love me, obey my commandments.
- John 14:15
Think about the way you act when you're in love with a guy. You know everything about him. You know his likes, dislikes and all of His favorite things. Not only do you know him inside out but you can't stop talking about Him. If we love Jesus as much as we say why are we so silent?
