To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven
- Ecclesiastes 3:1
I have only heard this scripture used at funerals and for negative occasions but who says this scripture is limited to only bad times? We serve a purposeful God who is ALL sovereign in every season! Nothing just happens. God is not a God of coincidence. There is purpose in every single season. Will we develop in that purpose and let pressure make us stronger? or will we give up, cave in and quit because times are 'too hard'. One thing I've come to learn this summer is that we determine the tone of the seasons of our lives. You determine if the sun is going to shine bright or if it's going to be a cloudy gloomy day. What is your outlook on the situations you encounter? Do you complain the whole way through about what isn't right or what you don't have or do you praise God in all things and thank Him that you have more than enough? (Remember we walk by faith and forsake our sight! You don't speak what you see you speak what you believe! That's faith. Even if you don't have money to pay your bills you open that weapon of yours called your mouth and declare boldly through the blood of Jesus that God supplies all of your needs according to HIS riches in glory). Being thankful is extremely important the Bible even says it is the will of God for our lives, that we be thankful in ALL things. It didn't say somethings or when things are good. It didn't say when we are happy or when we feel like it but that we be thankful in ALL things.
This summer was both a literal and metaphorical season for me. I've learned so much about God and how He wants His daughters to operate. It's time to throw away the crayons and pick up your lipstick! What do I mean by that? It's time to grow up! The complaining, the bad attitude, the hate, the unforgiveness it's got to go. It's time to grow up in the Lord. Instead of embracing the purpose in the season we are in some of us are too busy being negative to grow. There is purpose in where you are whether you want to be there or not there is purpose there. Embrace that purpose. Grow in unconditional love. Work your faith muscles. There are great things God wants to do with His daughters but all of that stuff we refuse to let go off pollutes us. God calls us to be pure which doesn't just mean refraining from sex. Purity means to be without infiltration. What are you allowing to infiltrate you that isn't of God? What is keeping you from embracing the purpose in the season you're currently in?
Let's grow up.
Let's remain thankful.
Let's walk by FAITH.
Let's embrace the season we are in with a GREAT attitude full of joy
There is purpose and room for growth in every season. Rather than complain and run away from our problems let's embrace the pressure, it's bound to make us stronger. Last year's troubles shouldn't trouble you anymore ...
Even when the unexpected happens we can still shine & rise above it no matter how hard it may be! The joy of the Lord is our strength ... have you tapped into your strength today? Not only is joy found in the word but it is a CHOICE! You have to choose to walk in joy!!! What choice have you been making lately?
