Cast all your care upon Him, because He cares about you.
-1 Peter 5:7
This morning I woke up to a phone call from a friend. The person mentioned to me the night before they had to work from 5:30pm to 11:30pm however they were wrong they actually had to work from 5:30am to 11:30am and it was 10 something! It was a mistake really anyone could have made. So immediately my friend started to panic. Thoughts of getting fired and having to answer to their parents rushed in so fast. As I was talking to this person the question in my head was ‘what if we lived without care’. What if my friend woke up and said Lord I messed up but I trust you & I can’t do anything about it now so let me hand this care over to you.
Care is much deeper than we think it is. Carrying the cares of our circumstances declares we walk by sight and not by faith rather than living by the word which boldly states we walk by faith and not by sight. Living without care doesn’t mean we don’t take care of things, or that we are irresponsible and it certainly doesn’t mean we don't use our authority. Living without care means we don’t let anything weigh us down. I bet some of you are thinking is that possible? YES IT IS. It is possible to live a life free from care. Just like anything else it is a process and something we have to work towards.
I remember The Holy Spirit revealing to me that Humans were never designed to carry cares. Stress, anxiety, panic attacks, emotional distress are all results of carrying around the cares that our circumstances and situations we face try to feed us. That is why the Bible instructs us to cast our cares on Him. This then makes me ask the question do you trust God? Do you trust God enough to say you know what God I know this is going on but I’m going to cast my care on you because I know you are more than able; or are you more likely to carry the care because you’re not sure if God will come take care of you? This is something that needs to be dealt with immediately. The root issue of situations is far more important than the issue at hand. We can’t talk about carrying care without talking about trusting and believing God. If you have trouble casting your care on God you should first examine if you trust Him with everything that concerns you.
As Virtuous Princesses we ought to live a life free from care. Now it’s time for you to examine your life and make it practical. Get a sheet of paper and a pen and make a two column list. Title the first column ‘my care’ and the second column ‘what God says’. Start listing all the cares that you holding on to. After that get in the word and explore what the word of God says about every single care you have. For an example if you have a financial care you could use the scripture where it says God will supply all of your needs according to HIS riches in glory. After you complete both columns of the list really start meditating on those scriptures. Every time that cares comes back into your head say NO I gave that care to God and then quote the scripture you found to expel that care.
Anyone who knows me knows one of my gifts is crafting and creating things. Any chance to mix my relationship with God with my creativity I take!! Last semester at school I really got a hold of that scripture (1 Peter 5:7) and decided I need to make it my business to apply it to my life in a very practical way. I got a shoe box and I wrote on it the give it to Jesus box. The fun part about this is that you can design the box and make it look pretty and all that cute stuff. Whenever something was heavy on my heart such as a care, worry, fear etc. I would write it on a piece of paper and put it in the box and it was like a weight was seriously lifted. It felt as if God removed that care from my heart with His own hand and I was surrounded by love and peace. If you think this is something that can help you I urge you to find a shoe box, large jar, whatever you need and DO IT!
I think we just need to let loose. So many Christians are just so uptight. Just relax. When things happen learn to laugh & smile. One of the things I love about the virtuous woman scripture set is where it says "she can laugh at the days to come". This woman wasn't uptight and she wasn't carrying care either! I believe with all of my being that we can all get to a place where it becomes a habit to cast our cares on God. It is such a freeing place to be, but it is very POSSIBLE to get there! Remember what Hebrews 12:11 tells us. No discipline seems pleasant at the time but those who are trained by it will reap the harvest! You will have so many opportunities to hold on to care but you have to reject it with the word. Don't allow yourself to be subject to life. Make life subject to you!! Quit going with the flow. It's YOUR life YOU should be setting the tone for how it will go not your circumstances and situations. So choose today that you will live a peaceful, virtuous and careless life!
I am blessed to be a blessing and share all that God has revealed to me with you.
